A Petra Pinafore for every occasion!

Our popular pinnies are back! We loved introducing this new design to you all last year for the first time, so we decided to bring it back for Summer.

In 6 different fabrics to suit your own personal aesthetic and lifestyle needs.

1) The Black barkcloth fabric:

A perfect and versatile colour staple to have in your wardrobe. The pinafore design itself is also an added bonus as it an amalgamation of both a dress and skirt. If you’re looking to venture out of the designs you usually wear, but aren’t brave enough to tackle pattern or colour – this is the perfect entry level piece for you, as a new shape can really jig things up and get you out of your comfort zone. A great option if you work in a more conservative workplace – with a strict-ish dress code – but want to add a bit more ‘you’ to your daily outfits. If you’d slowly like to become a little more adventurous, you can experiment by adding a pop of colour to this outfit with your layered piece underneath – both short sleeve and long sleeves look great teamed back with this pinnie; taking you from Summer to Winter. If you like to keep your outfits more streamlined, it looks great teamed back with our Rizzo top below – a perfect slash neckline with capped sleeves for coverage, and an easy stripe print to incorporate into your wardrobe. To make this a dressier, more night-time look, you can add one of our custom made belts, handmade in Greece, like this gold one here.

2) The Dandelion print:

This is a lovely cotton linen blend print. Even though it’s a beautiful, bright sunshine yellow colour, the navy base makes this another versatile piece you can wear for both work and for play. As you can see below, Chris has worn it here more like a dress, without a layer underneath. A nice option for the warmer days; you could easily make this a perfect smart casual piece for dressier occasions by teaming it with your best wedge or heel, some statement earrings and a belt. The heavier weight fabric of this print compliments this idea, as it sits more structured too, taking you from summer casual dress to more dressy occasions.

3) The Sketchy Stripe print:

This stripe print is a bit of fun, still in warmer tones, so we think you can wear this one for both work and play, too. We played with stripes here and took the horizontal pattern of the pinnie to inspire and direct our layer choice underneath and have worn this back with our Ripley Reversible Top navy stripe. Wear with sneakers or sandals and you have yourself a pattern fulled casual outfit ready for the weekend. We love how you can really see the pocket details of the pinnie in this choice of fabric.4) The Mod Spot print:

A fun larger scale, geometric print on a grey base teamed back with our spotted shirley shirt with scalloped sleeves. We’re all about the finer details here at Made590 when it comes to styling outfit pieces. Like above, we’ve gone ahead and worked with the pattern on the dress, and teamed our under layer to suit the dress – spot on spot! A great ensemble for work as the collar of the Shirley adds an extra detail of formal flair. The darker tones have you ready and running into the the cooler, autumnal weather. And how cute is the yellow button detail – just our way of adding a bit of quirky to every design. Wear with colourful sandals like Kell has here, sneakers or even your best metallic dress sandal.5) The Confetti Animals print:

Ok, so this is my favourite print of all and it may well be because its our very own print created by, Kirbee Lawler, our in-house graphic designer and illustrator you’ve all come to know and love over the years. This has been printed on a gorgeous stretch sateen fabric making it super comfy to wear as it allows for a little more give throughout. We’ve included splashes of colour throughout with our animal friends’ the wombat, koala and cockatoo featured on a lush teal-blue base colour-way. We wanted to pull the colour out from the animals so we’ve teamed it back with a red/white stripe rizzo top, not only complimenting the blue tones of the base colour, but highlighting all the lovely colours of our confetti friends too. The sateen fabric gives this pinnie a dressier finish with its slight sheen. To make it even more fancy, you can pair it back with one of our metallic belts and turn this into a fun night out, outfit! Play with different kinds of prints like we have here combining the confetti animals, with the stripe and some leopard print sandals and we bet you’ll stand out from the crowd with compliments all round’!

6) The Yuki Spot print:

How fun is this print?! Clusters of spots in fun pastel colours on a pastel blue base. We’ve teamed it back with a navy block colour rizzo top – a tonal outfit with lovely blue highlights.  If you’re really into bright, fun colours and pattern clashing – you can easily pair this back with a bright layer underneath or on top making this a fun celebratory print. This will sure to bring a smile to your day!

Our new Scarlet Skivvy tops online + instore now!

We have a new style to add to the Made590 family, and one you’ll love in this colder season. She’s called Scarlet and she’s a skivvy with a modern day twist. With her lowered seams around the neck she’s not as constrictive as traditional turtle necks, making her the perfect piece to keep you warm, yet allowing movement in the neckline. We think this is a more chic alternative to traditional skivvies and turtle necks as it has a lovely, blousy element so you can team her back with your more dressier styles, too.
She’s the perfect piece to wear layered with this seasons Made590 collection, but also easy to team back with your existing Made590 wardrobe – making her a versatile investment piece if you love your summer wardrobe so much that your want to see it through to Winter.
Wear underneath our Penelope tops, Indigo tops, Ginny tops – she also works perfectly with our Pinafore dresses –  both a customer and staff favourite, our Jessie dresses, Penelope dresses, Nigella dresses and our Sadie Sweater dresses. Wear back with any of your favourite Made590 skirts – she looks especially mod with our newer, Petra skirt – the outfit is a bit of a nod to the 60’s. You can also wear back with your favorite pair of jeans or straight leg pant – we’ve designed her with enough room throughout the body so you don’t feel like she’s too clingy to wear on her if you’re not layering her and with enough length through the waist that she sits at a nice point, flattering your hips.
She’s the perfect piece to wear if you don’t like wearing scarves or need that extra warmth without wanting to wear a scarf accessory. A higher neckline top like the Scarlet is also perfect for wearing with your favourite brooches!
She’s instore + online now.
Available in SIZING: XS (8/10) – XL (16/18)

Penelope Dresses galore!

The Penelope Dress is an all time customer favourite here at Made590 which is why we reserve lots of our special fabrics for this shape. We often say, ‘she’s the shift dress for people who don’t wear shift dresses’. She has the perfect boat neckline shape, with two fun, front pockets and the perfect knee length, a-line skirt. She’s unlike other traditional shift shape dresses, as she comes in nicely throughout the waist highlighting your shape without being too big or too tight. You can literally throw on and wear as is, and let the design details of the dress do all the work for you. Or you can team it back with one of our handmade belts for extra detail and to dress it up for more formal occasions, fancy dinners or work meetings. She’s the perfect layering piece – wear with basics underneath and heavier pieces over the dress. And because she’s been made with the flattering back seam, you don’t need to worry about looking too bulky with your extra layers.
She looks great teamed back with one of our Scarlet Skivvies underneath for extra warmth or our popular Clementine Cardigans or Capes over the top. Wear with our colourful locally made, leggings and you have a head to toe outfit all set for chilly, winter days!
Available in the below five stretch sateen fabrics as well as the two heavier, weight fabrics, also – as seen in the very bottom image.
The Penelope Autumn Dress is available instore, online and at the Makers and Shakers Market for one day only, this Saturday 23rd.
Get in quick, these don’t ever last long!

New In: Felicity Dress

The Felicity Dress is a brand new style here at Made590, based off our popular Felicity top, which you can view online and in-store now, too. The Felicity Dress has a lot of the same features of the top with the cute fold down collar and cute little point at the back of the dress. It also features a 3/4 sleeve which is perfect for in between seasons and gives you the opportunity to layer with a clementine cardigan or cape over the top for after work drinks and your walks to and from work when you’re not surrounded by office air conditioning. It’s a a flattering cut coming in at the waist – not too tight and not too big – perfectly skimming the body for a lovely silhouette so that you can easily layer with leggings and boots and not look too bulky. Cinch in the waist for a more dressy, formal or ‘finished’ look with a belt and you’re ready to go!
The skirt of the dress is a perfect aline, finishing at a lovely spot spot just on the knee, making this a great work outfit or one you can really dress up with accessories and heels for weddings, anniversaries, communions/ baptisms, meetings and conferences. And YES, she has POCKETS! As well as a centre, back zipper making it super easy to get in and out of.
The higher neckline is perfect for the cool weather as it keeps you warm without having to wear a scarf and perfect as there is more room to wear a brooch or two.

Helen Coat arrives just in time for Winter next week

Our Helen coats have arrived, the only coat we design for winter, so we make sure to add in all the details of a perfect coat so you only have to make one investment for the season without having to tick off your shopping criteria with several different styles. We’re firm believers that garments are held onto for years to come when thought and care goes into fit, design and fabric selection. And we’ve included some of our favourite details all in this one shape.
The Helen coat is made with quality cashmere wool, with cotton, pattern lining on the inside. We’re all about the detail here at Made590 and this little jacket looks great when it is worn open as you have the contrast of the colour of the wool and the lining as seen in the pictures below. We also take care to choose matching buttons that go back with the wool and lining.
We’ve also made sure to design this coat with added length so that it can be worn with any outfit co-ordination you have in your wardrobe. Helen is long enough to be worn with pants, dresses, skirts and jeans. And she’s definitely not one of those coats that add extra bulk to the body with your Winter layering. She comes in at the waist, which means you can even wear it dressier for work or for more formal occasions as it creates a lovely silhouette without it looking too casual or loose fitting like traditional winter parkers or coats. We make sure to keep you warm AND looking good in Winter!
With two working front pockets and hood with printed, fabric lining she’s also the perfect piece to wear for cold, early morning drop offs at school or to wear on the sports field in Winter. She’d look great with our cosy, Clementine cardi underneath for extra warmth teamed back with any one of our dresses or skirts.
Available online and instore now in Black and Berry with sizes S-XL.
Hop online or instore this weekend to grab your winter staple.

Leather Belts, all the way from Greece – instore + online now!

Hooray, our belts have arrived, and they’re available to purchase instore and online now.
These belts have travelled the distance as they come all the way from Greece. We work with a small family owned business, who specifically makes these belts for made590 in some of our favourite colours. We intentionally designed them in both neutrals and metallics so they’d be easy to match back with an array of print and colour palettes we produce year round.
We’ve also made sure to design these in the perfect thickness – not too thin, not too thick – so you can wear them either on your hip with pants and jeans or high waisted with skirts and high waisted style pants.
Because of the raw leather lining on the inside, you can even wear these belts if your garment doesn’t actually have belt loop holes as it catches onto fabric well and stays in place.
Perfect to add colour to your already rainbow outfit, but also a great way to sneak in some brightness to a monochromatic outfit.
Made from high quality leather from the Islands of Crete, you’ll have these belts for years to come, without having to worry about peeling like inferior belts.
These are selling fast so head instore or online now to grab yourself an easy accessory, perfect for all outfits.
Limited sizes available!

Friends of made: Miranda Murphy

Miranda Murphy is a brand that we’ve stocked for quite a while at Made590 and she’s a classic that our customers always come back to. She’s known for her simple, yet striking prints which she designs herself in silhouettes that drape the body effortlessly.
This season we have her sought after box tee blouses in three different prints – the autumn garland, finch and wattle.
These pieces are so light weight and perfect for tran-seasonal wear as you can wear a long sleeve underneath, a cardi and coats over the top without it looking too bulky – making this cotton popplin top perfect for winter layers, but one you’ll be able to whip out in the summer too and wear with shorts and skirts. The lightweight fabric makes it a perfect travelling companion, too folding up into a super compact size.
The box tee blouses are also perfect worn with pants and jeans as they are a good length sitting below the hip – not too short and not too long – you can wear them tucked out and not have it ride up your back, but long enough to be able to tuck into pants and skirts too.
In a broad size range: XS- XXL.
They’re available instore and online now.
